We are happy to arrange an internship in Tambacounda for you, however you will have to bear the costs yourself. An internship is possible in the Solar and Hygiene Center, as well as in the regional hospital, our long-term partner.

Regardless of where the internship is located, we ask our interns to live in the Solar and Hygiene Center and to commit themselves to the local activities. The Solar and Hygiene Center is the Freundeskreis Tambacounda’s second location, which is financed by the revenues of the Internet café and through donations. All projects and events arranged throughout Senegal are coordinated there. An intern’s assigned tasks vary depending on his or her capabilities and personal knowledge. Commitment, active support of our ongoing projects, and the integration and execution of your own ideas and projects (through consultation) are very important to us.

Prerequisites:

In general, proficiency in French is necessary.

Only interns with a medical education, such as nurses, midwives, medical students, and doctors, can be placed at the regional hospital. 

An internship in the Solar and Hygiene Center requires a different set of skills. Due to the Internet café, you should be well experienced with computers and the World Wide Web. Advantageous is an interest in technology and solar energy as well as general technical skill.

Students who seek to prepare their final theses in Tambacounda in a field pertaining to the work of the Freundeskreis Tambacounda e.V. are also welcome. Do not hesitate to apply if you believe you can contribute to our work.
