| The Solar and Hygiene centre
In 2003, the Solar and Hygiene centre in Tambacounda was opened and today it is a famous meeting point for younger and older people. It was built as a pilot project to demonstrate ecologic construction, ground water protection as well as the usage of solar energy. Today the centre is primarily used as a meeting point and education centre, where the people of Tambacounda can communicate and get information about different topics. The centre includes an internet cafe, a library , which is also used to hold work shops, a tailoring, a computer science room and a dry toilet. A carpentry is planned.In the following we’d like to present the activities and projects which are offered by the Solar- and Hygiene centre. |
